Scott Conklin - Only guy to show up - Lucky Thang!

Scott came to the Reunion meeting a couple of weeks ago and was the only man. We had a great time with him and hope he wasn't disappointed that he was there with 8 women. We combed through the old yearbooks pointing, laughing and talking about the past. Scott is in Charlotte and is the VP of Communications for Alauda Centurion and also works for Bank of America as VP of Risk Technology.

Theresa Dillion

Theresa lives in Kannapolis and loves writing, racing and photography. From the looks of her Facebook page she is an outdoors person these days and loves life.

Christian Lambeth and wife Holly

Christian and his wife Holly share sons Griffin and Ben. He is still in Charlotte and living in the University area.

Matt Goad

Looks like Matt has changed a little since High School. This is the picture he displays on Facebook:) Matt is a Journalist in Durham and lives in Raleigh (correct me if I am wrong but I think it's Raleigh)

What's going on at MP this season

As I talk and receive emails from so many classmates I realize that many of us are so blessed with beautiful families, wonderful jobs and good health. I copied the next two paragraphs (below) from the MP website and hope that if any of you feel the want or need to help you will in honor or memory of someone that has helped you get where you are today. STUDENT VS. FACULTY BASKETBALL On January 10th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., the 3rd Annual Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game for Make-A-Wish will be taking place. As many of you may remember, for the past two years, MP DECA has put together the basketball game, which raises money for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina. The game itself was inspired by former Myers Park student Zach Ramsey who was a “Wish” child himself. DECA continues to carry out this event in order to sponsor a child through Make-A-Wish in the same fashion that Zach was sponsored. Our goal is $6,000. If you would like to sponsor the game please contact Matthew Speas at matthew.speas@cms.k12.nc.us. Also, if you would like to make tax-deductible donation, please mail your check, made out to MP for Make-A-Wish, to Myers Park High School, Attn Matthew Speas, 2400 Colony Rd, Charlotte, NC 28209. Students wishing to play in the game should attend tryouts in the gym on January 3rd at 7:00pm. Please come out and support this great cause. See you there!

HOLIDAY OUTREACH Thanks to our wonderful MP community, the Outreach Committee is helping over 80 MPHS families have a brighter holiday. If you could not adopt a family, but still want to help, consider purchasing a gift card (Target, Walmart, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Harris Teeter) and dropping it at the school office before Dec. 17 in an envelope marked PTSA OUTREACH COMMITTEE. Thank you. Checks to the MPHS PTSA (put Outreach in memo line) are also welcome.

Great to hear from you and I can't believe we have been out of HS for almost 20 years!! Where has the time gone? The older we get, the faster it goes I guess. lol I'm Looking forward to the 20 year reunion as I didn't go to the 10 year and regret it.I am in Belmont/Mount Holly area and work in Charlotte.I work for the North Carolina Department Of Transportation as a Processing Assistant. In Sept. 2005 My friend and I decided we wanted to learn to ride Motorcycles so we took a class and I got my Motorcycle Endorsement. In Sept. 2006 I won a National Sweepstakes! It was the Harley Davidson Fantasize-Customize Sweepstakes. They had 1 winner....ME!! I won a 2007 Harley Fatboy plus $15,000.00 to customize it. Can you Believe it?? With all the customizing, I didn't actually get the bike until Jan. 20, 2007.I absolutely love it! I have attached a photo of me and the Harley. This picture was taken in June 2007 after I won first place in my very first bike show! Meeting was a success!

Yes. The meeting was a success! Although nothing is set in stone we discussed what kind of reunion we each were thinking about, price, family outing, Friday night Mustang Football game etc. The Class of 1987 just recently had their reunion over Thanksgiving Weekend and we have gotten some interesting feedback from some of them. If you went or have heard anything please email us!

We have not heard back from John Turner yet (our 1988 Class President). If anyone happens to stay in contact with him please have him contact us or let us know how we can contact him. I think we have an email address but are not sure if it is current.

****Calling all that went to the 10 year reunion**** Does anyone still have their booklet that was given to us at the reunion with names and addresses? I have moved and am not sure where mine is. It would be a great deal of help for us if someone could scan and email all pages to MPHSClassof1988@hotmail.com

Also if anyone would be willing to scan or mail copied pages of Senior Classmates pictures (from the yearbook) to me so that I can kind of use this as a checkoff list when I get addresses and such. This would be a huge help!!!

I think we already have over 100 email addresses for Classmates. We are thinking our class was 400 or so. We need your physical mailing addresses emailed to MPHSClassof1988@hotmail.com It doesn't matter if you can't remember if you sent it already or not just send it again to ensure that we have it. I will send you a confirmation email when received and recorded.

Has anyone seen or heard from Bob Hodges? We were wondering if any of our Classmates have served or are serving in Iraq. Please let us know if you know anyone.

Have we lost any Classmates? I know that we lost Herb Ruth after High School and Allison during High School but not sure of anyone else. Let's hope not.

The meeting attendees were: Holt Hathaway, Scott Conklin, Libby Gouge, Kim Withrow, Erica Burnell, April Adams, Susan Williams, Elisa Hawkins and Lisa Burlos. There were a few others that tried to come but couldn't make it. We are all gearing up for the Holidays but hope to get together again in January. Remember anyone is welcome and we would love to see you!

Does anyone have access to a cool spot for a reunion where we could serve our own alcohol? Do you work at a local Hotel, Country Club or Restaurant and get special discounts that we could use? (IE...Caterer, Florist, Printing Co., food/beverage dist. etc.) Do you have time to help put invitations together but are not interested in the planning process? Willing to address envelopes? Willing to donate stamps? Time? Ideas? We need help of all kinds! We need you!

Please feel free to tell me if I am missing anything or have forgotten someone or something! We can't do this without collecting information from you so let's get busy and get ready for a PARTY this Summer or Fall.
